Course Objective
The Adaptive FTO is a researched-based course that teaches FTOs (and through FTOs’ efforts, the trainee) how to become adaptive, agile decision makers. This course does not change your agency’s FTO Model. Attendees will work with a decision-making model that is flexible, universal, and legally sound. Our Adaptive Feedback Model nurtures the probationary officer’s creativity and critical thinking skills. The FTOs will work with emotional intelligence tools to identify emotional trigger points and enhance the probationary officer’s communication and social skills. The Adaptive FTO creates a durable framework for learning with our cognitive coaching philosophy for training the future of your organization.
Who Should Attend:
Current field training officers and supervisors who lead and direct their agency’s field training program.
About the Instructor
Thom Dworak is a retired Sergeant (31 years) from a suburban Chicago police department where he was the Field Training and Evaluation Program Coordinator and the Lead Defensive Tactics/Use of Force Instructor. Thom’s knowledge of experiential learning, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, creative problem solving and decision making has shaped our programs for the challenging and ever-changing environment the Criminal Justice professional find themselves in daily.
