Course Objective

This is a 24h three-day course designed for patrol officers to learn the fundamental tactics of moving in and around rooms and spaces that may contain an active threat. (CQC)

Course Content

This class will provide officers with the skills and tactical knowledge necessary in order to perform two officer close quarters clearance (CQC) of a structure. Officers will not only learn the fundamentals of CQC but weapons safety, manipulation, target identification and de-escalation methods involved in CQC. Officers will learn the two types of CQC which are SEARCH mode and CONTACT mode and which type to apply in various situations. Officers will be given an in-depth power point presentation with slides and videos before performing practical’s.

7.Prioritization of threats and target identification

Mobile In-Service Training Team # 7 Illinois Enforcement Training and Standards Board

MTU #7 request for certification of this course has been approved by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board

Meets the following mandatory training criteria: 4.00 Hours: Procedural Justice, 9.50 hours: De-Escalation Techniques with 7 hours Scenario Based, 10 hours: Office Safety techniques, including cover, concealment and time with 8 hours Scenario Based.
