Course Objective

Obtain a baseline understanding of the opiate overdose problem

Review basic myths/facts

Understand how opioids word

Identify an opioid overdose

Learn how to respond to an opioid overdoes

Learn how to administer Naloxone (NARCAN), an opioid antagonist

Become familiarly with Illinois Public Act #096-0361

Course Content

About the Instructor: Received my Bachelor’s of Science in Emergency Management from Western Illinois University and my Master’s of Science from Saint Louis University in Biosecurity and Disaster Preparedness
I always plan on continuing to learn as I venture into my at every level.
I have a particular interest in emergency management, public health emergency preparedness, community education and outreach, as well as bioterrorism and pandemic planning.
