Course Objective
The Gryphon Training Group, in association with the Central Illinois Police Training Center, is presenting an incredible 2-day seminar on these crimes and some of the people who perpetrate them.
Data from the U.S. Banking Industry indicates that seniors over the age of 70, are worth a combined total of thirty-five trillion dollars. That’s- $35,000,000,000,000 Seniors over 65 years of age control 85% of the liquid assets in the U.S
Course Content
Crimes Against the Elderly such as Sweepstakes and Lottery Scams, Ruse Entry and Utility Employee Impostor Burglaries, Home and Automobile Repair Scams, Short-Changing, Till Taps, Scrap Metal Thefts, Sweetheart Swindles, IRS Scams, Jury Duty Scams, Grandchild in Distress Scams, Computer Tech Support Scams and others, are just some of these crimes. All these crimes are committed by transient con artists, who have been successful for decades, if not centuries and they potentially plague EVERY community in America. FACT: Seniors are targeted by con artists an estimated 97% of the time. FACT: The elderly loses more than $3 billion a year to financial scams. FACT: The senior population are extremely hesitant to report incidents to the police. FACT: Law enforcement knowledge and understanding of these crimes is a must. FACT: Prosecution is the only effective deterrent.
