Course Objective

The purpose of this training is to provide correctional employees and/or responding law enforcement personnel with basic cell extraction techniques that will increase offender compliance, reduce department liability, and reduce possibility of injury to both staff and offenders.

Course Content

By the end of the training officers will develop knowledge and skills in:

• Immediate vs Calculated Use of Force in a Correctional Setting
• Cell Extraction Overview
• Video/Audio Recording Considerations
• Single Offender Extraction Procedures
• Multiple Offender Extraction Procedures
• Excited Delirium and Positional Asphyxia

What to Bring:

Riot Helmet, Vest, gloves, shields, gas mask and other equipment that is used for cell extractions.

Mobile In-Service Training Team # 7 Illinois Enforcement Training and Standards Board

MTU #7 request for certification of this course has been approved by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board

Meets the following mandatory training criteria: Civil Rights .50 hours, Constitutional Use of LE Authority .50, Emergency Medical Response training and certification 1 hour, Procedural Justice 1.50 hours, Laws concerning stops, searches and use of force 6.50 hours – with 6 hours of Scenario Based Training
