Basic Marine Law Enforcement Officers Course

Class will meet at: Fondulac Park PD, 301 Springfield Road, East Peoria, IL 

Class Size: Minimum 10 – Maximum 14

Course Description:

This course is structured to give Law Enforcement Officers the knowledge and skills necessary to operate in the maritime environment to include enforcement, search, rescue, and recovery. This course consists of both classroom and scenario-based training on the water.

Course Objectives:

The objective of this course is to give Law Enforcement Officers the knowledge and skills necessary to enforce all maritime state laws as well as local and county ordinances and to promote safe boating to include: responding to calls for assistance in the maritime environment, responding to boating accidents, search/rescue/recovery operations and sonar operations for death investigations/body recovery.

What to bring:

Students should bring any department issued water rescue equipment available, i.e., PFD, throw bags, rescue lines, rescue watercraft etc. If you do not have any equipment, we will provide everything you need for the water portion of the training.

 

Mobile In-Service Training Team#7 Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board

MTU 7 request for certification of this course has been approved by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board

Meets the following mandatory training criteria: Constitutional/Proper Use of LE Authority 2-Hrs, Emergency Medical Response 4-Hrs, Legal Updates 2-Hrs, Officer Safety Techniques 2-Hrs, and  Continuing Ed: Lead Homicide Investigator 4-Hrs
